Writing to share

Developing a Rhythm and Practice of Writing - Part 8
One of the most important aspects of writing for me has become sharing my writing with others. Whether it is through a handwritten letter, an email to a community or a published writing (blog), sharing my writing has grown my thinking and deepened my explorations.
When we journal, we write to ourselves. It’s an important self-care act. It helps us to be healthier. But oftentimes we find ourselves in a loop. Our thinking and feeling becomes cyclical coming back to the same issues or ideas over and over again. We can easily fall into the overthinking loop.
However, sharing our thoughts and ideas with others is how we grow. It’s how we bring ideas to life or validate our thoughts in the real world. It’s how we create breakthroughs from the “overthink loop”.
Whether it’s one person, a trusted group, or the public, it’s important to share what you have been writing. It’s how we avoid “delusional idealism” and/or climb out of the “pit of despair”. We share our writing to rise up to “hope-filled realism”.
It’s easy. Don’t over complicate it. Start with one person and write to them. You can write to me if you like.
Today, I write to my wife in a journal we share. I write to The Beautiful Community via email. And I share with the public via the blog.
Give it a try. Write to share.
This entry is for Month-long writing challenge for our The Beautiful Future Members. Every weekday, we write and share with one another to build and strengthen our practice of writing.
