The Prayer Log
Developing a Rhythm and Practice of Writing - Part 19
I am a person who is trying to live by faith, lead with hope and be directed by love. Some days I do pretty well but most days it is a struggle. One practice I have found to be helpful are my prayer logs at the back of my physical journals.
It’s a simple log I start on the last page of my journal and move towards the front of the journal as they are filled. It has only three components.
- The Date of the Prayer
- The Prayer
- The Date I received a response to the prayer.
The first two components are simple but let me share what the responses have been for me.
- Yes, No or Not Yet.
- Greater clarity on what I should be actually praying for.
- “Trust Me”
To be honest, this is one of the journaling practices I struggle with the most. But it is the most transformative one when I am consistent with it.
This entry is for Month-long writing challenge for our The Beautiful Future Members. Every weekday, we write and share with one another to build and strengthen our practice of writing.
